Leadership
2021 TTLA President Jim M. Perdue Jr.
I firmly believe TTLA and our membership can confront and defeat any challenge when we put our collective minds, effort, and spirit behind it.
Even before the pandemic, the world was changing in profound ways and we must rise to meet those changes for the long-term growth and sustainability of our association and the near-term challenges of the Legislative Session.
Diversity: TTLA’s membership must reflect the growing diversity in gender, race, and culture – not just in membership, but in leadership. I hope you will see in our Executive Committee my commitment to new, diverse voices who have a powerful role in running and sustaining this association.
Membership: We must all make a dedicated, sustained, purposeful commitment to grow TTLA’s membership this year. There are things only TTLA can do, and everyone must spread that word with conviction to every corner. The world is not going to stop moving forward because of 2020, and our purposeful, sustained efforts to find, recruit, and retain new members is an imperative in 2021.
Legislation: We will fight in this legislative session to advance our priorities and defeat those who assault our client’s rights and the American system of civil justice. The adversaries of liberty will attempt to strike at the heart of your practice. We need you engaged. Please volunteer your time and expertise to help us protect your practice.
Get involved and find a way to serve the sustenance of your Association. Participate in membership drives. Become a legislative volunteer. Spread the message to those we know and those we don’t: that TTLA is the only Association that can do what it does to serve them. There is a place for them, and you, to be an active part in our present and our future.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
