Texans need real justice, not a rigged system that protects insurance companies and corporate wrongdoers
A package of bills have been filed in the Texas Legislature that tip the scales of justice in favor of corporate wrongdoers and insurance companies at the expense of everyday Texans.
When someone suffers a life-changing injury, their needs are enormous - lost income, lifelong medical care, therapy, and ongoing pain and suffering. Severe cases need real justice, not arbitrary limits. Instead insurance companies are pushing legislation that boosts their bottom line. Texans deserve a system that holds everyone accountable - not one rigged to let them avoid responsibility.

Damages Caps: SB 30 / HB 4806 effectively caps non-economic damages, eliminates outright several categories of damages, creates unfair barriers to proving medical expenses, and artificially caps medical expenses.
Trucking/CMV: SB 39 / HB 4688 would undo the negotiated compromise passed in 2021, which outlined the duties for how CMV companies and their drivers would be held accountable. These bills shift the focus from the company to the driver, even though the company should be held accountable for its own failures and negligent actions and decisions.
